The DMB Caravan Odyssey - Part III

Sunday morning got up feeling excited for another day of the festival. The Monkey was headed home that morning and dropped me off at the same breakfast spot near the house to meet up with the LAN crew. While he wanted to see the performances scheduled for that day, he also wanted to spend some time with the fam. After breakfast, which included pork roll as my protein, we headed back to the Trump Plaza for a repeat festival prep - thankfully sans weird dude in mankini. Since the water and Coronas worked the day before, Ol' Lazy Acres and I stuck to the same plan. This time there was no DJ and the music mix left a lot to be desired. We suffered through, and then made our way over to the festival with the taxi dropping us off once again at the bridge. This day's line up for us began with Fitz & The Tantrums at the Atlantic Stage. I had only started listening to their music earlier in the year. They had a great old-school Motown sound. From DMB Caravan - June 24-26, 2011 The c...

I woke up around 5:00 a.m. Saturday morning feeling tired and a little sore. I thought how am I going to make it through another full day of the festival. I've seen DMB two nights in a row before , but that's just DMB performing at night not an entire afternoon and evening of performances. Let's face it I'm not getting any younger. I fell back asleep and woke up later around 8 a.m. I started thinking about all the artists I was looking forward to seeing that day. Before I knew it I was thinking "who's tired?" and was ready to go for another day. Each morning that weekend felt like Christmas morning. Great shows, DMB each night and we had great weather too. We met the LAN crew for breakfast around the corner from the house. They had pork roll on the menu, score! Good to see some "northern flavor" on the menu. After breakfast, we decided to gather up what we needed and then headed over to the Trump Plaza where Tom and Tracey were staying. While Tr...

While still basking in the glow of an amazing three-day festival that was the Dave Matthews Band Caravan in Atlantic City, NJ, on June 24-26, I'm a little jealous of the fans lucky enough to attend the DMB Caravan in Chicago this weekend. Wish I could do it all over again. Below is a link to a gallery of all my photos from the weekend in chronological order with captions. DMB Caravan - June 24-26, 2011 I had a great time, and thanks again to Donna and George for letting us stay with them for the long weekend. Hopefully I can get back that way again soon when I'll have more time to hit the beach and pool and see everyone. I flew up to Allentown, PA, on Thursday, June 23. Pops picked me up at the airport. We picked up some beer for the weekend, Yards Philadelphia Pale Ale , then I had lunch and drove down to Atlantic City. Thanks again for letting me borrow the car Dad and ML. I drove down on the Jersey side to avoid the end-of-day rush hour traffic in Philly. I took 78 east to ...
