Hibernation Ale and Ella's Tree
Happy Friday, hope y'all staying warm! This evening's brew is Great Divide's Hibernation Ale, an English-style old ale with malty hoppy goodness!
"Hibernation Ale has been our celebrated winter tradition since 1995. This robust, dry-hopped ale has a malty richness balanced with a complex hop profile and hearty, warming character. 8.7%ABV"
If you click on the image (larger view) you can see a few of the outside Christmas lights that I put up last weekend.
It's been cold here all week with lows in the 20s, and next week they're calling for lows in the teens - what up with that, this is the south!
We had "Team Building" last night at Duckworth's Grill and Taphouse. Not bad... had a half-rack of ribs, a skewer of grilled shrimp, sweet potato fries and a couple Foothills Hoppyum IPAs from Winston-Salem, NC.
This was the first place I've found that's had quite an extensive beer list of local NC brews. The Hoppyum was good, but would have liked to have seen more seasonal ales on their list.
Had my physical therapy session this week to help with my sciatica. It was actually pretty easy. I do a lot of stretching when I run, so it was nothing I couldn't handle. They gave me a couple exercises to do at home to strengthen some muscles, and I don't need to go back unless I have another flare up. I've only had to use the pain meds twice, and it's been a lot better since I started taking one Advil twice a day per doctor's orders.I was also able to get all my projects done last weekend... I finished the leaves, did my "Griswold" impersonation and got the lights up on the house, and put up the new artificial tree that I ordered after Thanksgiving.
I wanted to get the white lights, but they were out so I got the colored lights. That's what I usually do anyway, so that was fine with me.

Ella Bella checking out the tree while I enjoy a Sam Adams' Old Fezziwig Ale.

Eagles' parachuting Santa is my tree-topper this year - GO EAGLES!
- Salud!
